All that remains is a single, beautiful blue and green planet, united in its fragility and preciousness. This album serves as a poignant reminder of the gift of life that we all share. The song "La façon du pays" tells the story of the offspring born of the unions between European fur traders and Indigenous women in North America. These traders, who worked for companies such as the Hudson Bay Company and North West Company, often sought out the daughters of Indigenous chiefs to establish advantageous trading relationships. These unions produced a distinct group of people known as the Métis, who despite not having a traditional land base, are recognized as Indigenous peoples under the Canadian Constitution of 1982.
